Mr. Eric J. Westendorf, Assistant Director

Eric received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University where he majored in Secondary Education, specializing in Social Studies 7-12, as well as minoring in History. He also earned a Master of Education degree in 2012 from California University of PA along with his K-12 Principal certificate.

Mr. Westendorf is a Pennsylvania Department of Education certified 7-12 Social Studies educator. He formerly taught for eight years at Summit Academy in Herman, PA and spent his final five years there as 3rd Floor Supervisor; a position akin to an Assistant Principal. During his tenure at Summit Academy, Eric also coached Varsity and JV Basketball as well as Golf, in addition to being the PA Announcer for Summit Academy football games for over 10 years. His accomplishments there include being awarded the “Employee of the Month” (October 2002) and “Coach of the Year” (2004).

Mr. Westendorf is a lifelong resident of Freeport, PA, happily married, and proud father of four boys. Eric serves as a Board Member for Freeport Area Little League and Junior Jackets Youth Basketball program in addition to coaching for both organizations.

Eric is actively engaged in the local racing scene. Since 2007 he has served as the Public Relations Director at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA and as of the 2016 season, he became the Public Address Announcer. His duties there include: calling the races over the PA system, writing press releases and race reports, updating the website, handling all the tracks Social Media needs, as well as development and implementation of sponsorship and marketing partnerships.

Mr. Westendorf is a professional member of the Pennsylvania Association of Secondary Principals and the Pennsylvania Career and Technical Administrators, as well as a Life Member of the Penn State Alumni Association.
