Adult Education

Mission Statement

Adult Education at Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center is short-term vocational skill training which gives adults in general and/or dislocated worker adults the opportunity to learn new job skills or to supplement present job skills. It is our belief that "learning lasts a lifetime." Given this premise and the technological challenges inherent in today's labor market, we feel it is our responsibility to provide programs which enable adults to upgrade their skills as the market demands and which are patterned after the practices of business and industry. Further, we believe that the dignity of each adult individual is enhanced in relation to his or her ability to perform a useful service to society, while at the same time keeping abreast of changes in technology which will permit that individual to remain competitive in a highly complex economy and work environment.
